TITA LYNN’S FLAVORED SUMAN was conceptualized by Mr. & Mrs. Sun.  Tita Lynn whose roots hail from the province of Pampanga (a province tagged as the Culinary Center of the Philippines) learned to make “suman” from her parents and grandparents.  She never thought that she will continue the legacy of her ancestors and will turn out to be a business later on.

She prepared the suman in a traditional way which has been handed down through generations.  With the rich imagination of her husband, they made this native delicacy unique by filling in flavor starting with langka jam.  After a successful taste test and approval of the first flavor, additional flavors followed like ube (purple yam), macapuno (coconut sport), chocolate, mais-macapuno (to name a few).  Thus born the “flavored suman”.  It was easy for this product to be known because each satisfied client either gave it as a “pasalubong” or gift on special occasions.  With the assistance of the Department of Science and Technology, the packaging improved and became more attractive enough  to meet international standards.

In 2005, the couple decided to open their very first outlet at Tiendesitas, a venue with a Filipino theme which was perfect for their product.  Now, three years in operation, it has a total of six (6) concessionaire stands to boast of, all operational and company-owned.

Development is not limited to flavors but also to address customers who have health concerns.  They now have a “Wellness Corner” where one can avail of Original Suman cooked with “Splenda” or Coconut sugar.  There is also the Red Benguet Suman which is rich in fiber , also cooked with either “Splenda” or coconut sugar.  Lastly, the Cocomas Suman with organic based filling, cooked with coconut sugar known to lower bad cholesterol which are all good for diabetic and health conscious customers.  This is to emphasize that suman could be a healthy snack food.  Discovery of ways to satisfy discriminating tastes of clients continues with Tita Lynn’s.

BEEF WICH SANDWICH

Some good things come unexpectedly as Alan Larot, Proprietor of Ashley’s Beef Which in Cebu City shares his sandwich story. Two years ago late for his tee time and wolfing his lunch at the clubhouse, he stuffed the chopped up remains of a good local steak in bread poured in the gravy, and as afterthought put in all the vegetables sidings from his plate.
His golf game wasn’t too good that day but his fairway snack certainly was great. This
inspiration led to a whole new food concept. He secured a meat roasting machine from a friend friend experimenting on a variety of beef marinades and sauces at his household kitchen.
Months of trying numerous bread varieties would pass before perfecting this unique sandwich concept.
In October 205, after a friendly supplier introduced an Italian origin bread, they reworked to Filipino taste, the sandwich was taste tested by his golfing buddies, friends and colleagues. BeefWich, stuffed with roast beef morsels, vege trimmings of tomatoes, onions and cucumber in regular or hot oriental sauce in Ciabatta bread was launched.
In the same year Asheley’s Beef Which Foods opened in Cebu Doctors University catering to its medical students. A month after it opened its second outlet in GQS Plaza, Banilad Ceu City. To date this small upstart sandwich line has opened cart outlets in Ayala Center and SM City Mall in Cebu City.
Today Beef Which Carts in appealing red and black color motif carries beef roasting and bread toasting machines. BeefWiches are served lightly toasted in heavy filling with choices of special Macaroni and Potato salads to go.

BINALOT

Filipinos love to eat, which explains why practically every major global food brand is in the country; fast food brands, especially. These international franchises and their local imitations dominate. Filipino dining taste, in turn, has become very Western.
It was this way until a band of young entre-Pinoys realized, in 1996, that the Philippines has as much to contribute to the culinary world as burgers & french fries, pizzas & spaghettis, plastic spoons & styropacks. Their Filipino pride pursued the rebirth of Pinoy classics – adobo & bistek, tapa & tocino, sisig & longganisa, even salted egg & tomato against the onslaught of “Colonel Sanders, Ray Krock and his jolly clone”.
Their flash of inspiration led to the re-discovery of an age-old but very clever Filipino dining practice much better than styro lunch packs – banana leaves! Equally clever, their “banana insight” inspired the birth of BINALOT Fiesta Foods.
How much is a Binalot franchise?

BOY CHINOY

Filipino are rice-loving people. No great dish will be complete without rice. And since both Filipino and Chinese dishes are usually paired with rice, our team decided to go for the concept of Filipino-Chinese fusion, hence the name, Boy (a term which refers to a young Filipino male) and Chinoy (the popular label for half- Filipino and half-Chinese individuals).
We at Boy Chinoy, aim to offer the best of Pinoy and Chinese comfort food combined over steaming hot fried rice. One of our specialties being our steamed siomai or sharkfin dimsum paired with ice cold Chinese black gulaman.

At Php 39 per meal, Boy Chinoy rice meals are hot, quick, affordable and satisfying and can conveniently be eaten any time, any day, anywhere.
